Welcome to the website of the “Glorious” Gamma Sigma Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I am the 2020 President, Neanna Rachel Jones.

On January 15, 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington DC; the first Black Greek-letter organization for women. On April 23, 1949, the Gamma Sigma Chapter was chartered at the “Unsinkable” Albany State University by 12 trailblazing young women. The “Glorious” Gamma Sigma Chapter was the 1st black Greek sorority on Albany State’s campus.

Gamma Sigma Chapter continues to strive and carry out our legacy through “Service to all Mankind”, a loving sisterhood, and the pursuit of academic excellence.
